Lost & Found

Great Band To See Live
George and Micheal^^

Below is the basic bio that is sent to the people hosting LOST AND FOUND at gatherings and concerts, plus a little extra for those who found this spot.

LOST AND FOUND is Michael Bridges and George Baum. Through music and stories they share the Good News of God in Christ.

George plays piano, and Michael plays guitar. Stylistically, the music of LOST AND FOUND is not easy to describe. Some have simply labeled it "speedwood" or "acoustic thrash." Others, upon hearing the unique blend of folk and screaming, played without drums or stacks of keyboards, and including the occasional ballad, have just said, "I've never heard anything like that before." However the music is categorized, the message of God's love in Christ is easy to discern.

LOST AND FOUND concerts involve audiences. This interactive style has led to many opportunities to serve as song leaders at Christian youth gatherings in addition to their usual concerts. Concert travels have taken them to every state in the Union, and each year, LOST AND FOUND appears in concert over 150 times. To date, the group has released ten record albums of original music.

TouringThere is much more to the LOST AND FOUND ministry than just music; it is witness to the gospel in the journey of faith. Through stories in concerts, and workshops at many Christian youth gatherings, Michael and George communicate the presence and work of God in their lives. Sometimes those stories involve experiences of God's grace on the road. For example, several years ago, LOST AND FOUND traveled from New York to St. Louis, to Miami, to San Diego, to Seattle and back to New York on BICYCLES. During those 340 days, they sang more than 260 times at churches, schools, and colleges. With no support vehicle and no particular training regimen, the year proved to be an unforgettable part of the journey of faith.

For LOST AND FOUND, the concert tours and the everyday trials and triumphs of life are all part of the sharing, before and after the music gets played. George and Michael welcome these opportunities to reach out with the message of the gospel -- the message of God's work in Christ.

Currently, Baum lives in Ohio and Michael D. Bridges lives in Los Angeles, California.

The "Little Extra" we promised you.

ICHTHUS FestivalMichael and George began going by the name LOST AND FOUND in May 1986. They play concerts at churches, youth gatherings, basic downtown auditoriums and gymnasiums by invitation of local hosts. Their concerts are promoted by word-of-mouth. People who have heard and liked LOST AND FOUND simply tell their friends about upcoming concerts and invite their friends to come see LOST AND FOUND play. Once in a while people who have heard LOST AND FOUND decide to play LOST AND FOUND songs on the radio too.

Michael and George fell into playing music full time pretty much by accident. One concert simply led to another and people heard them and asked them to come back and sing again. Now, they have been at it for over ten years during and after college and graduate school. The one mission of LOST AND FOUND is to proclaim this one thing: GOd has loved each of us with an Everlasting Love. God has spoken a Word of love whose name is Jesus. It has never been the mission of LOST AND FOUND to sell out arenas, or to become staples of the radio. It has always been their mission to be honest and natural in concerts, and to meet lots of people and to communicate with them about the work and love of God in Christ.

LOST AND FOUND records and releases their own CDs on their own independent label called LIMB Records. (LIMB is simply a reference to the tree on which God proclaimed his love and did for us what we cannot do for ourselves.) While LOST AND FOUND cannot afford the production quality that a major record label can bring to an album, they are able to produce freely what they believe to be true and to offer CDs of their songs to remind people of the live concert experience. Lots of people have said, "You really have to see these guys in concert to 'get it.' " Funny, but it may be true.
